![]() Parkrun is a simple concept: turn up every Saturday and run 5km. It doesn’t matter how fast you go. You can run or walk – everyone is welcome. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing. What matters is taking part at a local community level in organised outdoor activity. Promoting a healthy active lifestyle tied to local community involvement is a key part of the ethos of parkrun. There are now parkrun events each Saturday in countries all around the world. Each event is based in a unique location like a park, beach or promenade. All events are organised by a group of our wonderful dedicated volunteers and people of all abilities are encouraged to take part; from those taking their first steps in running, walking or jogging to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience; all are welcomed. Parkrun is all about inclusiveness and wellbeing at a local community level. We want as many people as possible to feel part of a real local community brought together by our events, as well as our global parkrun family. That’s why we’ve kept the format of parkrun so simple: register once at www.parkrun.ie, print out your personal barcode then turn up and take part wherever you want, whenever you want. All Parkruns in Ireland take place every Saturday at 09.30am sharp.
